Charlesetta “Cookie” Yanchar, age 85, longtime area resident of Upper Freehold Township, formerly of Lakewood, passed away July 7, 2022 at home. She was born on March 16, 1937 the late Charles and Mabel (nee Goff) Nutt. Cookie enjoyed going on Matt Talbot Retreats. She used to work the concession stand in Lakewood for little league baseball and football games. Cookie was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Lakewood. She was a mother to everyone, especially to all the football teams. Cookie loved cooking for everyone. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that will be deeply missed. Cookie is predeceased by her son, John H. Hopkins, Jr.; and her parents, Charles and Mabel Nutt. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Leonard W. Yanchar; her two children, Leonard W. Yanchar, Jr., and Rachel L. Yanchar; and her grandson, Richard C. Yanchar. Funeral services for Cookie will be held privately at the convenience of the family. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
