Allan W. ?Al? Johnson, Sr., age 57, of Mitchell, Indiana, formerly of Jacksonville, NJ died Tuesday, March 4 at Bloomington Hospital in Paoli, Indiana after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Mount Holly, NJ and lived in Jacksonville before moving to Indiana several years ago. Al was a truck driver and was employed by Bedford Recycling. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and the Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9107. He was the owner and driver of a stock car and enjoyed NASCAR racing. Son of the late Edgar and Margaret (Prostler) Johnson and brother of the late Elizabeth Baxter, he is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Gerber) Johnson of Mitchell, IN; his children, Allan W. Johnson, Jr. and Paul A. Johnson both of Bedford, IN, Kristen N. Leggieri of Mitchell, IN and Sean F. Leggieri of New Jersey; a brother, Stanley Johnson of Juliustown, NJ and his grandchildren, Blaine Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Skylar Leggieri and Meriah Lee. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt, NJ (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will follow in the Juliustown Methodist Cemetery in Juliustown, NJ. Calling hours will be on Monday evening, March 10 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
