Obituary of Willard H. Matthews

Willard “Will” H. Matthews, age 70 of Pemberton, passed away on Friday, Sept. 2nd at home. Born in Mt. Holly, Will was a lifetime Pemberton area resident. He joined the Air National Guard, serving for 6 years. Will worked as a master carpenter at Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly for 15 years. After retiring, he would rehab houses and John Deere tractors, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t build or fix. Will was predeceased by his parents, Willard and Mildred Matthews, his brothers, Mike and Ronnie Matthews and his sister Judy Dayko. He is survived by his wife Karol, his daughters, Jamey and Jodi Matthews, his step-sons, Ray and Joey Kahoun; his brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Beth Matthews, his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Matthews and Dave; his 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his close friend and apprentice, Devon Lawson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00am until 12:00noon at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home followed by a burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Pemberton Township.
