Stephen P. Lawlor, age 63, long time area resident of Cookstown, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at home with his family by his side. He was born on April 6, 1960 in Dover, NJ to the late James and Eileen (nee Mullan) Lawlor. Stephen worked as a truck driver for Herman’s Trucking for 11 years. He loved motorcycles and going camping with friends and family. Stephen enjoyed Rock & Roll cruises, and partying with his friends who meant the world to him. He was a one-line jokester with such a big heart. Stephen was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed. Stephen is predeceased by his parents, James and Eileen Lawlor. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Bernice (nee Fay) Lawlor of Cookstown; his two brothers, James Lawlor and wife Robin of California, Joseph Lawlor of Manalapan; his sister, Patty Ryan and husband Joseph of West Orange; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Stephen will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with calling hours from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 and again on Friday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Whiting Memorial Park located at 600 County Road 530, Whiting, NJ 08759.
