The bond our fathers shared in the military and the enduring friendship that blossomed between us as children at Ft. Bragg hold a special place in my heart. Your father's life was one marked by remarkable achievements and dedicated service to his country. From his early years in South Carolina, where he overcame challenges to his graduation from South Carolina State College as a Second Lieutenant, your father's determination and love for learning shone through. His career as a Vietnam veteran, retiring as a Colonel after 25 years of service in the United States Army, is a testament to his unwavering commitment and bravery. Your father's legacy lives on through you, your brother Byron and his two beloved grandchildren. May the memories you hold dear and the love shared within your family bring you solace and strength in the days ahead. Today, as you gather with relatives and friends for the viewing, may you find comfort in the support and warm embrace of your extended family and loved ones. Together, may you reminisce about the moments of joy and laughter that your father brought to your lives, and find solace in the memories that will forever reside in your hearts.
