Carol A. Jackson, (nee Bondinell), age 85, of North Hanover, NJ., previously from Clifton, NJ., passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. Carol is predeceased by her parents, Hildur (Swanstrom) and Emil Bondinell; her brother, Carl; and her son-in-law, Phillip. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roger A. Jackson. Carol is also survived by her three children, Karin Venezia of North Hanover, NJ., David Jackson and his wife Katherine of Bethlehem, Pa., and Kristin Sullivan of West Chester, Pa.; her eleven grandchildren, Michelle, Nicholas, and Christopher Venezia; Patrick, Connor, and Olivia Jackon; and Frank, Danny, Megan, Kayla, and Cassandra Sullivan; her brother, Paul and his wife Stephanie of Deltona, Fl., and her sister-in-law, Ruth of Ashland, OR. Carol was a lifelong member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clifton during the time she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, coordinated the nursery care during service, and helped with maintaining the church property. She was also a member of the National Education Association, the Saddle Brook Education Association and the American Speech and Hearing Association. Carol was a 1955 graduate of Clifton High School and a 1959 graduate of Upsala College in East Orange, NJ., where she earned a B.S degree in education and of Paterson State College with a M.S. degree in communication disorders. Before her retirement in 1994, Carol was a speech therapist in the Saddle Brook School system. Prior to that she taught 11th and 12th grade English at the Elmwood Park Junior/Senior High School. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service for Carol on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11 AM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with calling hours from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Carol’s name to the First Lutheran Church in Clifton located at 1337 Van Houten Ave, Clifton, NJ 07013.
