Obituary of Evelyn M. Doherty

Evelyn M. Doherty, age 89, longtime resident of Cream Ridge, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Freehold. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 19, 1934 to the late August and Wilhelmina Sander. Evelyn resided in Cream Ridge since 1942. It was there that she maintained her farm home and raised her children. A woman of many talents, Evelyn ran two successful businesses on her own. During the late 1970’s she had an upholstery business as well as a greenhouse business. She would continue with her greenhouse business for the next several decades.
Evelyn enjoyed spending her days at the flea market, where not only would she sell her plants, but was able to strike up a lively conversation with those around her. She truly enjoyed sharing stories of her life with friends and family. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that will be deeply
missed.
Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, August and Wilhelmina Sander; her son, Wayne C. Logan; her son, Kevin Doherty; her daughter, Cynthia Lebers; her siblings, Howard Sander, Bernhart Sander, and Harold Sander. She leaves
behind her son Travis Logan and wife Lorraine; seven grandchildren, Ashley Raywood (Graham), Travis Logan, Dawn Philips (Jim), Ryan (Cassie) Logan, Crystal Logan, Michael (Jennifer) Goldenbaum, and Paul (Christine) Goldenbaum; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Evelyn on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow at Cream Ridge Cemetery located at 157-159 Burlington Path Road, Cream Ridge NJ 08514. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM
at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Evelyn's name to Alzheimer's Association
