Alfred K. “Al” Austin, Sr., age 94, lifelong resident of Pemberton Township, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, 2024. He was born on May 16, 1930 in Brockton, MA. Al proudly retired from the United States Army in 1971. He also worked at W.R. Fry Realty in Mt. Holly for 27 years. Al served as Post Commander at American Legion Post 294-Pemberton. He was also a member of the VFW Post 8068 located in Egg Harbor Twp along with Korean War Veterans. Al enjoyed everything about trains. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother that will be deeply missed. Al is predeceased by his beloved wife Bertha Austin; his son and daughter, Alfred K. Austin, II, Cindy Austin; his brother, Kenneth Julien; and his first wife, Mary Elizabeth “Marie” Austin. He leaves behind his son, Michael E. Austin and wife Mary of Browns Mills, NJ.; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his brother and sisters, Harry Austin of Spencer, MA., Alice Dupree of Worcester, PA., June Morin of Abbington, MA.; and his caregiver, Rebekka Riblet; many nieces and nephews Family and friends are invited to attend Al’s visitation on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 9 AM to 10 AM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, NJ 08533. A funeral service will start at 10 AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park located at 1300 Route 130N Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.
