It’s midnight on November 1st and I don’t know why, but Mike popped into my head and I wanted to see if he was on Facebook or social media to say hello, and I saw this. I am so hurt seeing this. This man, Michael Berwick, was one of the funniest, friendliest, good men that I’ve ever known. He was my boss at the Freehold YMCA going way back to 1997, and my mother knew him and told me that he was a nice guy and my first day, this guy was ragging jokes on me and me on him and it was such a pleasurable experience to be with him whenever I was at work. He always loved the Patriots and I hate the Pats, and so we always a friendly rivalry on football. I am just stunned. Michael Berwick taught me that you can have fun at work while being serious at the same time, and to a teenager, he was like a fun uncle. To the man I am today, I am so grateful that I knew him and I only wish that I had one more chance to thank him for being a great man and boss. Rest in peace, Mike. You’ll always have a place in my heart. My condolences to family and friends.
