Obituary of Alvah V. Hoff

Alvah V. ?Al? Hoff, Jr., age 64, of Cream Ridge, died Wednesday, August 6 at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Montclair, NJ, he was a lifetime area resident. Al recently retired after 41 years from Jersey Central Power & Light as a trouble shooter. He was a member of the Woodruff Rod & Gun Club for 40 years and was a member of the NRA. Al was a loving & devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be very much missed by his family and many friends. Al was predeceased by his father, Alvah V. Hoff, Sr., a son, Brian P. Hoff and a brother, Michael Hoff. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda (nee Emery) Hoff; a daughter, Tina Holman & husband Curtis of New Egypt; two sons, Sean Hoff & wife Holly of New Egypt and Keith Hoff of New Egypt; a granddaughter, Faith Madison Hoff of New Egypt; his mother, Sophie Hoff of Picture Rocks, PA; a brother, Chris Hoff & wife Sheryl of Hughesville, PA; a sister, Kathy Hess and husband Tom of Hughesville, PA; his mother-in-law, Marie Decker of New Egypt and two nephews, Michael Search of Allentown and Kyle Hoff of Hughesville, PA and he is also survived by his many friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with interment to follow in Emleys Hill Cemetery in Cream Ridge. Calling hours will be on Sunday evening, August 10 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al?s memory may be made to the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, 14 Front Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 or to the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 38 N. Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
