George C. Tiesmeyer, Sr., age 59, of Cookstown died Sunday, August 10 at home. Born in Albany, NY, he was a resident of Cookstown since 1993 and formerly of Browns Mills. George was a retired Senior Corrections Officer with the NJ State Department of Corrections in Yardville. He was a member of the New Egypt Elks, the Sons of the American Legion in New Egypt and the Garden State Archery Club in Jacobstown. He was a past exempt member of the Browns Mills Fire Co. and a former member of the Ft. Dix Rod & Gun Club, the P.B.A. and the F.O.P. George is survived by his wife Deborah (nee Barnard) Tiesmeyer; a son, George C. Tiesmeyer, Jr. and companion, Shannon Abrams of Pemberton; a daughter-in-law, Colleen Tiesmeyer of Wrightstown; a daughter, Lynda Tiesmeyer of Binghamton, NY; four grandchildren, Stephanie & Kaitlyn Tiesmeyer and Scott & Adam Sinwich; five brothers, Raymond Tiesmeyer & wife Mary of Dunnellon, FL, Frederick Tiesmeyer & wife Cathy of Tampa, FL, Stephen Tiesmeyer of Dunnellon, FL, Edwin Tiesmeyer & wife Cindy of Springhill, FL and Harry Tiesmeyer of Clearwater, FL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 10:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com) with burial to follow in the Bordentown Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday evening, August 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
