Annie J. ?Janet? Parker was born May 25, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY and lived many years in New Egypt, NJ and departed this life on Friday, August 29 at the young age of 89 years at the Mount Holly Center in Mt. Holly. Janet was a Charter Member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 455 in New Egypt and was a former member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Howard A. ?Doc? Parker, Sr. and her loving son Murell Parker. Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Howard A. Parker, Jr. and wife Anne of Tabernacle, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Parker of New Egypt, her grandchildren, Howard A. Parker III and wife Gwen of Roebling, Robin Sue Schaub and husband Greg of Travis AFB, CA and Troy V. Parker and wife Amber of New Egypt, 5 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Ruth Thompson of Levittown, PA and many nieces and nephews. Janet was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Thompson and two sisters, Sue Cottrell and Erla Lewis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 11:30 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Interment to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday evening, September 3 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janet?s memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
