Stephen J. McIntyre, Jr., age 85, of Jackson died Sunday, September 21 at Bartley Health Care in Jackson. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he grew up in Linden and was a resident of Lakewood from 1962-1977, Virginia from 1977-2006 and Jackson since 2006. Stephen was a graduate of Linden High School and served in the US Marine Corp as a Staff Sgt. during WWII from 1942-1946 and the Reserves from 1946-1953. He was a Boy Scout Troop leader for Troop 37 in Linden during the late 30?s. Stephen was a retired carpenter for the GAF Corporation and for E.I. DuPont, both in Linden. Husband of the late Carmella McIntyre, he is survived by two sons, David McIntyre and wife Loretta of Chesterfield Twp., NJ and Stephen J. McIntyre III of Forked River and two grandchildren, Amanda and Brian McIntyre. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be on Friday, September 26 at 3:00 PM at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
