Violet M. Reading, age 94, of Cream Ridge died Tuesday, December 9 at John L. Montgomery Care Center in Freehold. Born in Tennett, NJ, she was an area resident since 1971, before moving to Freehold in a few years ago. Violet had been employed at Atlantic Products in Trenton. She was also a member of the Cookstown United Methodist Church. Wife of the late Edward Reading, Sr. and mother of the late Shirley White; she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy & David Phillips of Evelett, MN; a sister, Doris Pienkowski of Cream Ridge; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and six great- great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with Rev. Norman Eckley, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ewing Cemetery in Ewing. Calling hours will be on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
