Obituary of Jane B. Smith

Jane B. Smith, age 83, of Cream Ridge, died Monday, December 15 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in New Egypt, she was a lifetime area resident. Jane had been employed as a bookkeeper for both Blunt?s Furniture Store in Cookstown and for Lester Pullen Stables in New Egypt. She had also had owned and operated a dairy farm with her late husband. Jane was a member of the New Egypt Vol. Fire Company Auxiliary, a volunteer with the Meals-on-Wheels program, and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. She also enjoyed spending time in Forksville, Pennsylvania at the farm of her friends, Sylvia & William ?Huffy? Huff. Daughter of the late Cecil and Doris (Sager) Borden, wife of the late Byron F. Smith and mother of the late Martin Smith and Paul C. Smith; she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy & Frank Paschal of Jacobstown and Linda & Michael Hobbs of Mt. Holly; a granddaughter, Tori Mendelsohn of Long Island; two great grandchildren, Devon and Rebecca Mendelsohn and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with interment to follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
