Obituary of Bertram A. Walker

Bertram Anderson Walker, age 90, of Hightstown died Saturday, December 27 at his residence. Born in Pemberton, he was a long time resident of Hightstown. Bertram was retired from the US Post Office in Hightstown. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving during the Normandy Invasion in France receiving 2 Bronze Stars. He also served in the Army National Guard for 28 years, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Son of the late Charles and Mary Walker, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Walter and Leon and by his sister, Sara. Bertram is survived by his son, Michael Walker and wife Pat of Hamilton; granddaughters, Michele Eisenberg and husband Steve of Bristol, PA and Elizabeth Ann Walker of Hamilton; great grandson, Gary Michael Bozowski of Trenton and great granddaughter, Ashton Eisenberg of Mount Holly. Bertram is also survived by his wife Loretta Walker of Hightstown; a step-son, John Oldzej of New Egypt; and two step-daughters, Susan Stoney of Deer Park, TX and Diane Bowers of Las Vegas, NV. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2 at 1:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow with Military Honors at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
