Herbert L. ?Bucky? Gilbert, age 77, of Maysville, NC died Friday, March 20 at Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay, FL. Born in Cambria County, PA he had been a longtime Jacobstown area resident before moving to North Carolina 18 months ago. Bucky was a retired carpenter and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a former member of the American Legion Post in Hightstown and the Sykesville Presbyterian Church. Husband of the late Maureen P. Gilbert; he is survived by four sons, Brian Gilbert and wife Judy of Winter Haven, FL, Kenneth Gilbert of New Egypt, Bruce Gilbert of Cookstown and William Gilbert of Maysville, NC; a daughter, Patricia Hilliard and husband Buddy of Chiefland, FL; a brother, Charles Gilbert of New Jersey; a sister, Dorothy Weaver of Burlington; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Interment will follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening, March 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
