William R. Norcross, Jr., age 92, of Pemberton Boro died Monday, December 11 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. Born in Pemberton, he was a lifetime resident. Bill was a retired steel worker after 40 years for the John A. Roebling Steel Co. in Roebling. He also served in the US Coast Guard during WWII as a Cook 1st Class. Bill was a lifelong sports fan, active in sports during high school and he also played football on the Roebling Steel?s ?Bluecenters? football team. He coached youth football in Pemberton and was active in the Pemberton Seniors. Bill enjoyed traveling and camping after his retirement and the many friends he met. He loved to cook and work in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (nee Harker) Norcross; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis & James Gordon of Pemberton Boro; a granddaughter, Pauline Nevins of Pemberton Boro; several nieces and nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews and his three beloved dogs, Willie, Buddy and Siggy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18 at 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with Donna Waters, officiating. Calling hours are from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08052.
