Obituary of Anna M. Rockhill Ryan

Anna M. Rockhill Ryan, age 97, of New Egypt, N.J., died on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, N.J. Born in Hornerstown, N.J. and a life long resident of New Egypt, Anna retired from Jersey Central Power and Light Company as a Senior Clerk in the Cookstown, N.J. office. She was the oldest member of The United Methodist Church in New Egypt. She also was a former member of the New Egypt First Aid Squad and a member of the Sphinx Chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star in New Egypt. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward C. Errickson and mother, Sadie Kirby Errickson, by her husbands, Norman Rockhill and Edward Ryan, and brothers, Orval Errickson, Marvin Errickson, Perlin Errickson, and sister Martha Miller Tartaglia, and sons, Wallace ?Walley? Rockhill, Ronald ?Ronnie? Rockhill., and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by a granddaughter, Ellen Denise Blanda of Wrightstown, N.J., a grandson, Scott Rockhill, of Howell, N.J., A great grandson, David Rockhill of New Egypt N.J., three nephews, Denny Errickson, of New Egypt, N.J., Chuck Miller, of Cornelius, Oregon, Robert H. Miller, of Brewster, MA., a niece, Sandy Hoch, of Florence, N.J. and several great nieces and great nephews. Anne was a very compassionate, caring and giving person. Her home and heart were always open to help and assist her family and friends. She will be profoundly missed by all who loved her. A special heartfelt thank you to David Rockhill and Catherine Tucci, who in her declining years provided dedicated loving care. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, N.J. (www.tilghmanfh.com) for the visitation on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. A graveside interment service will be held at the convenience of the family at a future time.
