James T. Docherty, age 51, of Hammonton died Friday, September 18 at SJH Elmer Hospital in Elmer, NJ. Born in Baltimore, MD he was a resident of Hammonton for the past 2 years and formerly of Pennsylvania. James was a self-employed paving contractor. Son of the late Robert and Margaret Docherty, he is survived by his wife Peggy L. (Harrison) Docherty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Linda Docherty of Egg Harbor and Michael and Debbie Docherty of Washington, NJ; a sister, Carolyn Frowin of Maryland and six grandchildren, Tony, Henry, Isabella, Priscilla, Leonard and Michael. Funeral services for James will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Monday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
