Obituary of Elizabeth Hopkins

Elizabeth F. ?Betty? Hopkins, age 90, of North Hanover Twp. died Thursday, November 19 at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Mount Holly, she was a longtime area resident. Betty was a retired telephone operator for Bell Telephone at Fort Dix and Mount Holly. She was a member of the Jacobstown Methodist Church and also their organist for 20 years, she was a member of the Wrightstown Senior Citizens, the Young at Heart Club in Cookstown and the Pemberton Senior Citizens Breakfast Club. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Leon Hopkins and her brother, Maurice Fort. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. & Francine Hopkins of Laurel Springs, NJ and Larry and Barbara Hopkins of North Hanover Twp.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Earl Akins of Jobstown; three brothers, Joe Fort of Pemberton, Kenneth Fort of Lancaster, PA and Donald Fort of Allentown, NJ; a sister, Doris Croshaw of Wrightstown; six grandchildren, Sherri Carter, Kelly Lannom and husband Jay, Kimberly Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, Christopher Hopkins and Isabella Pericoloso; four great grandchildren, Daniel Craft, Alexandra Craft, Emmaline Carter and Theo Lannom; a long time friend, Harold Beck of Moorestown and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Betty?s name may be made to the North Hanover Township EMS, 41 Schoolhouse Road, Jacobstown, NJ 08562.
