Robert R. Adams, age 80, of New Egypt died Friday, January 1 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly. Born in Edgewater Park, NJ, Bob was a resident of New Egypt since 1976 and formerly of Browns Mills. Bob was a self employed carpenter and in his early years worked on his family?s farm in Burlington. He was an Air Force veteran, serving as a Staff Sergeant from 1950-1954 and was a life member of the VFW Post 6805 in Browns Mills and a member of the American Legion Post 455 in New Egypt. Bob was predeceased by his parents, H. Raymond and Gertrude (Budd) Adams and a sister, Jean Adams of Hyattsville, MD. He is survived by his wife, Joy (Lewis) Adams; three daughters, Chris Anne Adams and companion Robert Brown of Cream Ridge, Kathryn Wolden and husband Dan of Allentown, NJ and Barbara Farrell and husband Troy of Jacobstown; a son, Mark Adams of New Egypt; a sister, G. Anne Carter of Los Angeles, CA; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Bob will be held on Tuesday, January 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Funeral services and burial will take place on Thursday, January 7 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road in Wrightstown, NJ (Please arrive at the Funeral Home by 12:00 Noon to drive in precession to the cemetery). Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, 20 Pine Mill Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053-3101.
