Obituary of Pearl A. Moschera

Pearl Ann (Sager) Moschera, age 87, of Cookstown passed away December 23 at her home on the Moschera Farm on the Cookstown-New Egypt Road. She was born September 17, 1922 in Jacobstown, NJ and was a life long resident of the North Hanover Twp. Pearl grew up on her father?s farm in North Hanover Township just down the road from the Jacobstown Baptist Church and she attended the Jacobstown Elementary School when it was only a one room brick school house with all grades in the same room. Her future husband, Joe, also a farm boy, would dip her pigtails in the ink well at school. Soon after Pearl and Joe married in 1948 they bought the Moschera farm where Joe and his ten siblings had grown up. Pearl also worked at the original Hartman?s Pharmacy in New Egypt during the 1950?s and the Cookstown Post Office in the 1960?s. She was a member of the New Egypt Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Post 455 Auxiliary in New Egypt. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Huff Sager, Pearl was a farm girl, military wife, farm wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her son, Larry L. Johnson and her husband of 60 years, Senior Chief Joseph L. Moschera, Sr. USN Ret. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Lou Worth (Murrell) of Prescott, AZ and Linda Ann Vaughan (Eddie) of Little Rock, AR. She is also survived by her sons, Joseph L. Moschera, Jr. (Shirley) of Tucson, AZ, Mark D. Moschera (Terry) of Cookstown and Shawn T. Moschera (Dee) of Cookstown. She has 13 grandkids, Paul, Donna, Cristi, Joseph III, Angela, Stacy, Jeff, Crystal, Josh, Kyle, Samantha, Brian, Nicholas and Ashley Pearl and several great grand kids. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery where she will be near her husband, father, son, grandchild and grandfather. Calling hours for Pearl will be on Tuesday evening, December 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
