Cream Ridge- Dorothy B. Kisthardt, 90, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at home. Born in Trenton, she resided in Ewing most of her life. She spent many summers fishing with her husband on their boat the Dorkis, on the Barnegat Bay. The couple was known to have quite the fishing reputation in the bay area. Dorothy was also known for her green thumb, as she had a certain love for gardening. She especially loved growing peonies and African Violets. Over the years she enjoyed the companionship of several beloved Keeshond puppies, which she raised herself. After the passing of her husband she spent much time with son David and his late wife Ellen L. Kisthardt and their three children. She enjoyed having tea parties and going shopping with her two granddaughters as they were growing up. Daughter of the late Henry J. and Nettie B. Heiner Gassner, wife of the late Henry C. Kisthardt; she is survived by daughter, Judith Crump of Atglen, PA; A son David H. Kisthardt of Cream Ridge, N.J. She leaves behind five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held 11am on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, N.J. with calling hours from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery,Greenwood Ave. Trenton, N.J. Donations may be made in her memory to Focus on the Family- Colorado Springs, CO 80995.
