George Bell, Jr., age 77, of New Egypt died Thursday, January 7 at home. Born in Paterson, he lived on Forest Street in Fairlawn before moving to New Egypt in 1994. George was a building contractor and a member of the Bergen County Local of the Carpenter?s Union. He also was a partner in ParkWest Properties and enjoyed playing cards at the New Egypt Elks. George was predeceased by his wife, Carmelia in 2003, a son Jeffrey and a brother Teddy. He is survived by two sons, George R. and Rosemarie Bell of New Egypt and Timothy Bell of Hagaman, NY; a daughter, Lisa Bell of New Egypt; three sisters, Mildred, Betty and Helen; two brothers, Albert and Robert; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services for George will be held on Wednesday, January 13 at 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in George?s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
