Eunice E.(Grant)Flanders, age 87, formerly of New Egypt died Tuesday, January 26 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a longtime resident of New Egypt before moving to Browns Mills to live with her daughter four years ago. Eunice had worked at the BOMARC Missile Base in New Egypt, worked in the cafeteria at New Egypt Elementary School and also worked at Hartman?s Pharmacy in New Egypt. She was a life member of the New Egypt Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, life member of the Sphinx Chapter of the Eastern Star and a member of the American Legion Post 455 Auxiliary in New Egypt. Eunice was a Troop Leader for the Brownies in New Egypt and volunteer at the Fort Dix/McGuire AFB Thrift Shop with other officer?s wives. Eunice was predeceased by her first husband, William F. Grant and her second husband, Capt. Carl E. Flanders and by a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Ruth Williams. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann Winter and friend Baudilio Amaral of Browns Mills; a son, Kenneth Grant of New Egypt; a step-son, Carl Flanders of Cream Ridge; a step-daughter, Darla Flanders of Tennessee; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services for Eunice will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 3:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com) with burial to follow in Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Eunice?s memory may be made to the Masonic Home of NJ, c/o Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
