Obituary of Armand Vito

Armand Vito, age 84, of Browns Mills departed from his remarkable life on February 3rd at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly. The son of Italian immigrants, he grew up in Newark and Carlstadt, NJ and resided in this area for 53 years. Armand followed in his father?s footsteps as a carpenter and a mason until he assumed a teaching position at Willingboro High School where he retired in 1986. He was a proud World War II Army veteran serving in the Battle of the Belgium Bulge and receiving commendations for sharpshooting, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Victory Ribbon, the National Defense Good Conduct Ribbon and two Battle Stars. Armand spent 27 years as a summer resident in Moira, NY and 5 years as a winter resident in Venice, FL where he was a member of radio-controlled model airplane clubs. Armand was an adventurous lifelong learner becoming a sailor, private pilot, a SCUBA diver and acquiring a broad spectrum of knowledge as an avid reader. He was an inspirational father and grandfather who encouraged his family members in all of their endeavors. He is survived by his ?girls,? Dr. Patricia Vito Duncan of Columbus, Dianne Theresa Faunce of Browns Mills and Karen Marie Vito of North Brunswick.
