Obituary of Arthur D. Barkalow

Arthur D. ?Hank? Barkalow, age 67, of Hornerstown died Thursday, October 14 at home. Born in Bath, Maine, he was an area resident since 1959. Hank was a retired truck driver for Wonder Bread in East Brunswick. He was a Deacon and a very active and dedicated member of the Shadyrest Bible Church in Chesterfield, but most of all, Hank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Hank was predeceased by his mother, Frances Henderson. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley (nee Johnson) Barkalow; two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Tammy Barkalow, Jr, of Hornerstown and Warren and Jennifer Barkalow of New Egypt; four grandchildren, Daniel, Cortney, Mark and Jeremy Barkalow; his father, Harold Barkalow of Virginia; two brothers, Harold Barkalow, Jr. and wife Julie of Conway, NH and Dudley Barkalow of Iowa; three half sisters and spouses, Kathleen and Frank Parr of Windsor, VA, Deborah and Richard Pippins of North Carolina and Marie and Mike Purser of North Carolina; a half brother, Rodney Barkalow of New Orleans, LA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Hank will be held on Monday, October 18 at 11:00 AM at the Shadyrest Bible Church, 187 Crosswicks-Chesterfield Road, Chesterfield, NJ 08515. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hank?s name may be made to Children?s Cancer Research Fund (www.childrenscancer.org). Arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, NJ (www.tilghmanfh.com).
