Elsworth ?Butch? Runion, Jr., age 66, of Browns Mills died Saturday, April 24 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, he had been a resident of Browns Mills for 9 years and was a former resident of New Egypt. Butch was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War, receiving 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Manchester Township Road Department and before that as a chemical operator for Ciba-Geigy in Toms River. Butch was a lifetime member of the VFW in Lakehurst and a member of the Amvets. Butch was predeceased by his father, Elsworth Runion, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Conger) Runion; his mother, Harriet Runion of Nelsonia, VA; five children, Shelly Reed and Shane Buckalew both of Browns Mills and Andrea Kelley and husband Eric, Eric Runion and wife Tracy and Elsworth Runion III all of Maine; a brother, John Runion of Virginia; three sisters, Suzie Runion of Whiting, Harriet Boron of Florida and Pat Henderson and husband Gary of Princess Anne, MD, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Butch will be held on Tuesday, April 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Funeral service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
