Michael J. Lenart, age 76, of New Egypt died Tuesday, September 7 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Elizabeth, NJ he was a New Egypt resident for the past 60 years. Mike served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Missouri and the USS Macon. He was a retired salesman at Diamond ?M? Lumber in Southampton. Mike was a charter member of the New Egypt Elks Lodge, a member of the VFW Post 6590 in Cookstown and he was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt. Mike is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anita (nee Kelly) Lenart; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Lenart of New Egypt and Kathleen and John Redmond of Alpharetta, GA; two grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Redmond; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Janet Lenart; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne and Bichler Cranmer of Jackson and Mary and Robert Inman of New Egypt and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption Chapel, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt with Father Joseph Farrell, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold. Calling hours for Mike will be on Friday, September 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Saturday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
