Arthea J. ?Thea? Hopkins, age 69, of New Egypt passed away Saturday, December 25 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden after losing her battle with cancer. Born in Long Branch, she lived in Toms River before moving to New Egypt 25 years ago. Thea was employed as a line supervisor with Princeton Tech in Bordentown. Thea was predeceased by her parents, Arthur Van Pelt and Rose (DePaola) Fontana and two sisters, Dorothy Lewis and Dana Brewer. Thea is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hopkins; a son, Joseph Hipple Jr. and wife Terri of Beachwood; a daughter, Kimberly Mayer and husband Barry of South Toms River; her step-father, Salvatore Fontana of Tinton Falls; three step-children, Susan Marie Francis and husband Reggie of Lawrenceville, NY, Dlaine Shaughnessy of Cape Coral, FL and David Hopkins and girlfriend Shari Donalis of Winthrop, NY; a brother, Arthur Van Pelt, Jr. and wife Jean of Oceanport; three sisters, Rosemarie Pingitore of Pennsylvania, Rabine ?Donna? Harpell of Oregon and Deborah Robertson of Middletown; 3 grandsons, Gary Hipple and Marc and Scott Mayer; 6 step grandchildren, Tim and Katie Cooley, Matthew and Megan Gendron and Kearston and Brittney Hopkins; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Thea will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday evening, December 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
