Harry E. Townsend, age 84, of Jacobstown died Wednesday, January 3 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly. Born in Mansfield Twp., he was a life time area resident. Harry was formerly employed at the Walson Hospital on Fort Dix for many years. Son of the late Elwood and Viola (Davis) Townsend, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Barclay D. & Doris Townsend of Chesterfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane & Henry Tutek of Bordentown; an aunt & uncle, Lila & Stanley Davis of New Egypt; and nieces & nephews, Diane Rementer, Gerry Sota, Barclay & Roy Townsend and William, Dale & Brad Ethington. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harry?s memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice ? Mt. Holly Inpatient Unit, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053-9841.
