Obituary of Ernest F. Vandal

Ernest F. Vandal, age 83, of New Egypt, NJ, previously of Wallingford, CT, beloved husband of Joyce Stevenson Vandal died peacefully Friday, January 28, 2011 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center surrounded by his loving family. Ernie was born in Grafton, Massachusetts December 22, 1927, the son of the late Peter and Albena Vandal. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, who served during WWII. Ernie was proud of his family; they were the light of his life. He instilled a little piece of himself in each one of them. Besides his wife of 64 years Joyce, he is survived by his three daughters, Patricia (Eroh) and her husband Mark; Paula (Doyon) and her husband Rodney; Katherine Vandal and daughter-in-law, Joyce Vandal wife of his deceased son Thomas. Six grandchildren, Shawn (Ken) Clark, Thomas Vandal, Jr., Christen (Ryan) Riley, Sarah Eroh, Julie (Rob) Quattron, Rebekah Eroh; Five great-grandchildren, Dustin, Kalei, Hailey, Allyssa Riley and Blake Vandal; sisters, Loretta Walker, Delores (Gillis) Elie and brother, Roland (Alice) Vandal; several nieces and nephews and three grand dogs. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 12 noon, at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. There are no calling hours.
