Obituary of Robert J. Haines

Robert J. Haines, Sr., age 75, of Chesterfield passed away Friday, February 4 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Pemberton Twp., he was a longtime resident of Chesterfield. Bob worked for 30 yrs. for the A&P Grocery Store in Wrightstown and 14 yrs. at the Northern Burlington High School. He was an exempt member of the Wrightstown Vol. Fire Co. and a member of the Jersey Indians Travelers Club and the Keenagers of Chesterfield. Bob also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and Nascar. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Samuel and Anna (Harris) Haines; a brother and two sisters, Herbert Haines, Ruth Lynch and Barbara Williams. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, E. Virginia (Nutt) Haines; a son, Robert J. Haines Jr. of Ewing; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Deborah and Lee Kolman of Cape Coral, FL and Kathleen and Robert Hobson, Jr. of Yardley, PA; a brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Ethel Haines of Pemberton; two grandchildren, Robert Hobson III and Karyn Wire and husband Scott; 2 great-grandchildren, Scott Jr. and Justin Wire and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 9 at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery on Schoohouse Road in Jacobstown. Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob?s memory may be made to the Chesterfield Baptist Church, 209 Matthews Lane, Chesterfield, NJ 08515 or the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4181 (www.heart.org).
