Paul E. Nicholas, age 66, of New Egypt died Wednesday, February 23 at home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a resident of New Egypt since 1970 and previously lived in Mount Holly. Paul was a veteran of the Army, serving from 1965 to 1967. He retired from the maintenance department of Ready-Pac in Florence and had also worked at Monsanto in Yardville, Reese Inc. in Englishtown and Curtis Trucking and Eastern Rubber & Plastics both in New Egypt. Paul was a member of the NJ Lighthouse Society, a member of the Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club in Jackson and he was a Special Police Officer for Plumsted Township in the 1970?s. Paul is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn (nee Wishart) Nicholas; two brothers, William A. Nicholas and wife Kathy of Iva, SC and George Nicholas of Anderson, SC; a sister, Gladys Margaret Garrison of Iva, SC; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and Marie Wilson of Wrightstown; many nieces and nephews and his best friend since the age of 18, Gary Margerum of Schwenksville, PA. Funeral services for Paul will be held on Monday, February 28 at 12:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
