Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia ?Ginny? Parker of Jacobstown, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6 in the comfort of her home at the age of 91. She was born on July 18, 1920 in Pointville, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Jacobstown residing for most of her life on Parker Farm with her husband, Norman ?Diddle? Parker for more than 75 years. Ginny was extremely dedicated to her family for her entire life. It was often said that she was the ?rock? of the family. She found the good in everyone and had only kind words to say about anyone that she encountered. Ginny lived to be around her two granddaughters until she was blessed with two great-grandsons who had the honor of getting to know her for many years. Predeceased by her husband, Norman ?Diddle? Parker and her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Jane Parker, she now will find peace with them. During her life, she spent long hours by their sides on the family farm. It was known by all in the town that at noon, anyone could walk into her kitchen and sit down to a 3-course ?supper?. Ginny loved to travel and was able to see places such as Hawaii and Spain which she always shared her fond memories. Her true passion was 500 rummy and eating pie. Up until her last day, she would play at least 4 games of rummy per day and would always save room for pie. Ginny is survived by her two granddaughters, Janette Cronin and Robine Reese and their families; a sister, Viola Ranalli; a brother, Charles Mullen and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for Ginny will be held on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with interment to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday evening, August 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ginny?s memory can be made to the Parker Farms Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Jacobstown Fire Co., 86 Chesterfield-Jacobstown Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
