Obituary of Ray A. Rothgeb

Ray A. Rothgeb, age 75, of Whiting died Sunday, October 2 at Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Born in Columbus, Ohio he lived in New Egypt from 1961 to 1998 before moving to Whiting in 1998. Ray served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and he was a retired fireman at McGuire AFB working at the flightline fire station. He was a life member and past chief of the New Egypt Vol. Fire Co., joining in 1964. Ray was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and was a former coach for the New Egypt Babe Ruth League. He enjoyed trips to Seaside and golfing with his sons. Ray was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Whiting. Ray was predeceased by his mother, Opal Broderick, his son, Ray Matthew ?Lil? Ray? Rothgeb and by a grandson, Wyatt Beall. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Rothgeb; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lori Rothgeb of Mercerville and Mark and Kim Rothgeb of Canton, OH; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Beall of Mechanicsville, MD; four grandchildren, Matthew and Molly Rothgeb and Samuel and Faith Beall; a brother and three sisters, Kenny Rothgeb, Betty Seymore, Ruth Rothgeb and Judy Broderick all of Columbus, OH and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ray will be held on Thursday, October 6 at 9:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting. Burial will follow at Bordentown Cemetery in Bordentown. Calling hours will be on Wednesday evening, October 5 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
