Obituary of William G. Lamboy

William G. Lamboy of Browns Mills passed away in his home with his family at his side on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Born in Puerto Rico, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving proudly for 20 years. A combat veteran of the Korean War, he survived the Unsan Massacre, November 2, 1950, and awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action and the Purple Heart. He also received the Bronze Star in Viet Nam and the Army Commendation Medal. After retiring from the Army, he served another 20 years for the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Willie is survived by his wife, Alice Lamboy; his two daughters, Shirley and Maria; his three sons, William Alberto, Mitchell and Ray; and his beloved grandchildren, Stacey, Erick, Edeliz, Esteban, Mara, Tal, Hannah, Emanuel, Nina and Lucas. A funeral service will be held at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, N.J. 08533, on Monday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Armeytown. Visitation will be Monday at 12 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
