Dwinelle H. ?Polly? (nee Huber) Boyer, age 91, of Browns Mills died Thursday, November 24 at her residence. Born in Bethlehem, PA, she was a resident of Browns Mills for the past 52 years.
Polly was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and during World War II she was employed as a recreation assistant by the American Red Cross and served in many countries in Europe from 1945-1947. She was a retired teacher having graduated from the College of New Jersey with a degree in elementary education and from Rowan University with Special Education. She had been employed at the New Lisbon Developmental Center for 30 years as an academic teacher. After retirement she was employed as a substitute teacher in the Pemberton Township School District for many years. Polly was renowned for her musical ability and was the organist for the Cookstown United Methodist Church and was employed by the Little Lambs Day Care Center as a music teacher for their classes. She was a member of the Browns Mills United Methodist Church and active in church activities. Polly was on the Board of Directors for the Little Lambs Day Care Center. She was a member of the New Jersey Retired Education Association and a life member of the Communication Workers of America.
Polly was predeceased by her husband, Arthur L. Boyer; a sister, Grace Mease and by a brother, Edward Huber. She is survived by two sons, John of Browns Mills and Thomas of San Clemente, CA; four grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Polly on Sunday, December 4 at 3:30 PM at the Browns Mills United Methodist Church, 2 Pemberton-Browns Mills Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 (www.brownsmillsumc.org).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Browns Mills United Methodist Church in her honor.
