Obituary of Joseph M. Ouge

Joseph M. Ouge, age 68, of Milford, DE died Saturday, December 10 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, NJ he lived in Old Bridge, NJ for 31 years before moving to Milford 5 years ago. Joe was a veteran of the US Navy, serving active duty for 7 years and reserves for 19 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He also worked as a diesel mechanic for many years, most recently at Mendon Leasing in Carlstadt, NJ. Joe was a member of the Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milford, a member of the American Legion in Milford and a member of the NAUS and the Fleet Reserve Association. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph M. and Marion Ouge and by a sister, Loretta Nedeau. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (nee Villafane) Ouge; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly M. & Troy McAfee of Muscatine, Iowa, Dinneen M. & Scott Jordan of Pittstown, NJ and JoLyn & Patrick Galvin of Dover, DE; a brother, John Ouge of Old Bridge, NJ; a sister, Carmen Ghizzone & husband Richard of Succasunna, NJ; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Herlein, Joseph Herlein, Peyton Jordan, Gavin Jordan, Patrick Galvin, Joseph Galvin and Victoria Galvin and four great grandchildren. Funeral services for Joe will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 11:00 AM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2309 Route 70, Manchester, NJ 08733 with burial to follow at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Calling hours will be on Thursday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt, NJ (www.tilghmanfh.com). Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joe?s memory may be made to the Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE 19963 or to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
