Charles A. Bauer, Sr., age 94, of New Egypt died Wednesday, May 9 at Bartley Health Care in Jackson. Born in New York, he was a resident of Ridgewood, Queens before moving to New Egypt in 1975. Mr. Bauer was an Army veteran of World War II serving from 1942-1945. He also was a retired Insurance Adjuster with Aetna Insurance in New York. Mr. Bauer was also a school crossing guard for 15 years in New Egypt. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary Bauer and is survived by two sons, Charles A. Bauer, Jr. and wife Diane of New Egypt and Paul A. Bauer and wife Jill of Cresco, PA; two brothers, Frank Bauer of St. Petersburg, FL and John Bauer of Spotswood, NJ; a sister, Florence Connicio of Florida and New York; three grandchildren, Bryan, Melinda and Christopher; a great granddaughter, Bryanne and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 11 at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Wrightstown, NJ 08533 (www.chuchoftheassumption.com), with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. There will be no calling hours. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Bauer’s memory may be made to either the Church of the Assumption or to Bartley Health Care in Jackson.
