Richard J. Perosa, age 77, of New Egypt died Friday, June 29 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Phildelphia. Born in South River, he was a resident of East Brunswick before moving to New Egypt in 1998. Richard was a graduate of South River High School and Seton Hall University and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1954-1957. He was a teacher for the Spotswood School District teaching mostly 8th grade science. He retired in 1994 after 33 years of teaching. Richard was a member of the Spotswood Education Association and the Rangers Athletic Club and was a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption. Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith (nee Dobbins) Perosa; three sons, Joseph Perosa of Budd Lake, NJ, Chris Perosa of New Egypt and Scott Perosa and wife Susan of Palm Coast, FL; two daughters, Lisa Russell of Bordentown and Jill Miller and husband Howard of Spring Hill, FL; ten grandchildren and a great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held on Tuesday, July 3 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 (www.churchoftheassumption.com) with burial to follow at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Monday evening, July 2 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com).
