Jeanine E. Cookson, age 71, of New Egypt died Monday, January 14 at home. Born in Rockland, Maine, she was a resident in Augusta, ME before moving to New Egypt 2 ½ years ago. Jeanine was the proprietor of Nannie’s Corner Store in Belfast, ME. Jeanine was predeceased by her husband, Norman Cookson, her parents, John and Vina (Harlow) Proctor and a brother, Harold Proctor. She is survived by five children, Cheryl Cook of Winslow, ME, George Cook of Augusta, ME, Ann-Marie Lufkin of Winslow, ME, Angela Cook of Portland, ME and Lawrence Cook of Winslow, ME; three brothers, John Proctor of New Egypt, Richard Proctor of Morrill, ME and Dwight Proctor of Rockland, ME; a sister, Judith Proctor of Waterville, ME; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
