Obituary of Alexander J. Zukus

Alexander J. Zukus, Jr., age 81, of Whiting died Friday, February 22 at Aristacare in Whiting. Born in Frackville, PA, he lived in New Egypt before moving to Whiting in 2004.
Alex was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He was a retired crane operator for MJ Rudolph in at Port Newark and a member of the Operating Engineers Local #14. He was a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt and was active in the Knights of Columbus, Assumption Council #10,900. Alex also was a member of the VFW.
Alex is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (nee Cannon) Zukus; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jay & Lisa Zukus of Bridgewater, NJ, Patrick & Carol Zukus of Baltimore, MD, Alex & Heylen Zukus of Whiting, NJ and Edward and Erica Zukus of Bordentown, NJ and nine grandchildren.
A Mass for Alex will be held on Wednesday, February 27 at 11:30 AM at the Church of the Assumption Chapel, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt, NJ with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alex’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
