Guy G. “Fritz” Davis, age 85 of New Egypt died Monday, September 2nd at Bartley Healthcare in Jackson, NJ. Born in St. Louis, MO, he lived in Rosemont, NJ for many years.
An Army veteran of World War II and Korea, Guy served as a guard and interpreter at the Nuremburg Trials. He was a graduate of Washington University. He was a renowned antiques dealer and expert throughout the northeast and was the author of The Jersey Devil’s Official Flea Marketeer’s Manual. Guy worked for many years as a manager for several successful businesses in New York City and Princeton, NJ. He was a member of the New Egypt Historical Society, the Friends of the Plumsted Branch of the Ocean County Library, and the New Jersey Flea Market Owners Association.
Guy was predeceased by his parents Guy J. Davis and Mathilda Suroski Davis. He is survived by his sister Betty Reeves and a niece Liz Reeves, both of Temecula, CA, two great nieces, and his dear friends, Esler and Sandra Heller, Talba & Keith Warner and their children, Aaron and Suzanne Heller and their children, all of New Egypt.
Funeral services for Guy will be held on Thursday, September 5 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road in Wrightstown.
