Constance Mabel Throckmorton Probasco, age 92, of Cream Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Care One at Jackson following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Long Branch, She lived most of her life in New Sharon, before moving to Jensens in Cream Ridge. Connie graduated from Hightstown High School and Briarwood College. She owned and operated the Cranbury Gift Shop in Cranbury for more than 20 years and she taught quilting classes at the Quilters Barn in Allentown until she was in her seventies. Connie was predeceased by her husband Alvah George Probasco. She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Jo Mains and her husband Marty; and Susan Jane Estel and her husband Gary, all of New Egypt; her grandchildren, Michael Mains of New Egypt, Mark and Allison Mains of Clarksburg, and Jennifer McNerlin of Burlington, NC; her six great-grandchildren Briar, Levi, Michelle, Mitchell and Matthew Mains; and A.J. Zirrillo. Connie’s 92 wonderful years, March 19, 1921 to November 12, 2013 will be celebrated privately by her loving family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave. Suite 251 Denville, NJ 07834 or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tilghman Funeral Home 52 Main St. New Egypt. God saw she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arm around her and whispered “Come with me”, With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away , Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. It was a long time for the long goodbye to be over…..
