Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael E. Wasniewski, age 66, of New Egypt died Saturday, November 16 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Detroit, MI, he was a resident of New Egypt for the past 38 years and formerly lived in Yardville. Mike was a retired Quality Control Specialist at Fort Dix. He was proud of his country and was a big supporter of the Military, often providing food for the service men and women and helping in any way that he could. He also was a practical joker and liked to bust chops. Mike loved to drive his backhoe and his corvette but the real love of his life was cooking for others and eating. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Katherine Wasniewski. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Evelyn (nee Wuillermin) Wasniewski; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Amy Wasniewski of Pendleton, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Anna Wasniewski of Poland, OH and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mike will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 12 Noon at the Columbus Baptist Church, 24260 West Main Street, Columbus, NJ 08022, with Pastor Bob Santilli officiating. Calling hours will be on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until Noon at the church. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that you help the military by donating gift cards from WalMart, WaWa or any supermarket. They should be sent to Monika Bunch, Army Emergency Relief, Human Resources Military, 5428 Delaware Avenue, Fort Dix, NJ 08640. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
