Carol Ann Nixon, age 68, of St. James City, FL died Sunday, February 2 at home with her loving family after a long illness. Carol was born in San Diego, CA and was a longtime resident of Springfield Township, NJ before moving to Surf City, NJ for 10 years and then to St. James City for the past 5 years. Carol was a retired Mail Carrier for the US Post Office, working in the Wrightstown, NJ Post Office for 23 years. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Hilda (Murphy) Love and by a brother, Robert Love. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry A. Nixon; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joseph McFarland of Springfield Twp., NJ, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry R. Nixon of St. James City, FL and Jeffrey and Marilyn Polo Nixon of Boynton Beach, FL and three grandchildren, Andrew McFarland, Ashley McFarland and Catalina Nixon. Funeral services for Carol will be held on Friday, February 7 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com), with interment to follow in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening, February 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
