Obituary of Raymond J. Grant

Raymond J. "Junie" Grant, age 90, of New Egypt died Saturday, February 8 at his daughter’s home. Born in Colliers Mills, NJ, he lived in New Egypt before moving to Florida 27 years ago and had moved back to New Egypt a year ago. Raymond was a self-employed farmer and also worked as an electrician. He was one of the original members of the New Egypt First Squad and he served on the Plumsted Township Board of Education. Raymond was a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of the Pyramid Lodge No. 92 in New Egypt and was a member of the Crescent Shriner Temple. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Wilma M. Grant in 2012, his parents Raymond and Geneva (Fischer) Grant and a brother William F. Grant. He is survived by a son, Raymond Curt Grant and wife VeeAnn of New Egypt; a daughter, Margaret Kay Crain and husband Russell of New Egypt; seven grandchildren, Russell N. Crain, Eugene J. Crain, Raymond Curt Grant Jr., Thomas W. Grant, Patricia May Grant, Michael R. Grant and Nicholas J. Grant; two great grandchildren, Brinley and Naomi Crain and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Raymond will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com) with Masonic Services at 7:00 PM. Calling hours will be on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Raymond’s memory may be made to the New Egypt First Aid Squad, P. O. Box 368, New Egypt, NJ 08533 or to the New Egypt Vol. Fire Co., P. O. Box 177, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
