Obituary of George Cordwell

George Cordwell, age 91, of Wrightstown, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Virtua Health and Rehab Center in Mt. Holly. Born in New Egypt, he was a lifetime area resident.
George worked for American Standard in Trenton as a caster before retiring; he enjoyed growing vegetables and was proud to share his harvest, especially his Jersey tomatoes.
Son of the late Anna and Ephraim Cordwell; and husband of the late Louise Cordwell; George is survived by his son George (Elvada), his daughters; Doris (Ronald) Hensley, Barbara (Mickey) Muccie, Marian (Scotty) Stevens, and Betty Gwinn; his 11 grandchildren; Maria, Michael, Duane, Jason, Jed, Linda, Michelle, David, Timothy, Jenna and Jaesen; and 9 great grandchildren; Caleb, Keira, Mason, Rebecca, Meredith, Katherine, Jaylin, Jarren, and Jaeden. He also leaves behind 3 sisters; Mary Lane of AZ, Julia Reid of MD, and Myrtle Patterson of AR; a brother Joe Cordwell of AZ, and his dear friends Pat Cummings and Lisa Cole.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from Tilghman Funeral Home 52 Main Street New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com). Interment followed in Zion Cemetery, Cream Ridge.
